Attention, planners: Want to woo women clients? You have to focus on financial planning and spend less time on investing strategies, according to a 2011 study from Spectrem Group.
Women are more likely than men to actually pick the family’s financial planner, according to the study. They value a planner’s ability to lay out a long-term strategy to ensure their children’s financial well-being.
Women also are more risk-averse in their financial decisions than men, the study found. Also, 46% of ultra-high-net-worth women worried about not having enough of a retirement cushion, compared to 34% of men.
Do you think that women have a different investment attitude and a varied set of priorities than their male peers?
