UHNW 2012, Volume 3- Relationships with Advisors

 

The third quarter of Spectrem Group’s 2012 Ultra High Net Worth Investor ($5MM - $25MM) report provides you with a number of strategic insights into how this particular wealth segment engages with advisors.  Additional segmentation by age, wealth level, advisor dependency, and occupation will provide supplementary insights into the decision making and preferred communication frequency of the Ultra High Net Worth. 

According to research gleaned from the 2011 version of this report:

  • Sixty eight percent of the respondent’s indicate they are likely to recommend their advisor to a family member or friend. 
  • When asked whether they would follow their advisor if the advisor left their current company, 60% of the UHNW said they would; while 40% said they would stay with the firm.
  • Sixty six percent of UHNW Investors say it is very important that their advisor has professional registrations and licenses such as CFP or CFA.
  • For those who have received a financial plan from their advisor, 95% are either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their financial plan.
