Retirement plan participants apparently are keeping the materials they receive at the time of enrollment.
Even though they enrolled two or more years ago, 55% of plan participants reviewed their enrollment kits in the past six months. An even larger percentage reviewed that material in the past year.
Most Helpful Enrollment Information

|
Slightly more than one-fourth (27%) of plan participants say the descriptions of plan investments or fund fact sheets contained in enrollment kits are particularly helpful, even if some of the information has become outdated.
Also helpful, plan participants say, are the explanations of investment concepts (20%), examples of investment strategies (18%) and self-evaluation tools (18%).
Women are more likely than men to consult enrollment materials for an explanation of investment concepts, while men are more likely to look for descriptions of investment options.
